Vertu wants CEOs to run companies from an AI foldable starting at $6,880

Luxury phone maker Vertu is betting that CEOs will pay nearly $7,000 for a foldable device designed to run their entire company. The new phone starts at $6,880 and positions itself as a mobile command center for executives.

The device is built on top of Hermes, an open-source project, and integrates AI agent workflows directly into the hardware. That means automated tasks and enterprise software connections are baked into the phone itself, not just through apps.

Vertu is pairing the AI capabilities with what they call ultra-premium luxury finishes. Think high-end materials and craftsmanship, which has always been their brand signature.

For professionals already using AI tools to automate workflows, this represents a new category: hardware designed specifically around AI agents rather than AI features added to existing phones. Whether executives will actually manage companies from a foldable screen remains to be seen.

The pricing puts this squarely in the luxury tech category, competing more with status symbols than practical business tools. But if AI agent workflows become central to how companies operate, purpose-built hardware might make more sense than it sounds right now.
