Apple is finally giving Siri the makeover it desperately needs. Bloomberg just shared renders of what Siri will look like in iOS 27, and it's borrowing heavily from ChatGPT's playbook.
The new design features a pill-shaped chat bubble that pops out from the Dynamic Island, complete with a dropdown menu offering options for Ask, Siri, and ChatGPT. Think of it as Apple admitting that conversational AI needs to look and feel like, well, a conversation.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman notes these renders are based on insider information and could change before Apple's official reveal at WWDC in June. But the direction is clear: Siri is getting a chat interface that actually looks like modern AI tools.
For anyone who's felt frustrated by Siri's limitations compared to ChatGPT or other AI assistants, this redesign signals Apple is taking the competition seriously. The ChatGPT integration option is particularly telling, it shows Apple recognizing that users want access to more capable AI, even if it means partnering with OpenAI.
The timing makes sense. iOS 27 would likely launch in fall 2026, giving Apple over a year to refine what they're calling their biggest Siri update ever. Whether it can catch up to where ChatGPT and other assistants are today remains the real question.
