Google's Gemini Spark can now manage your Google Photos library

Google just pushed Gemini Spark into practical territory. According to the announcement, the AI can now edit and organize your Google Photos library, create shared albums, and even turn images into calendar events. This isn't available to everyone, it's locked behind Gemini Pro and Ultra subscriptions, signaling Google's bet that agentic AI features are premium territory.

The shift here matters because it moves beyond conversational AI into genuine task automation. Instead of asking Gemini to summarize an email, you're letting it curate a vacation album or schedule a photo reminder without lifting a finger. That's closer to the agent vision everyone's been talking about since late 2024, where AI actually does things on your behalf rather than just suggesting them.

The Google Photos integration is strategic.
